Clarity Works | A Practical Guide to Theme-Based Planning for Diverse Classrooms

Before the templates, before the many strategies to try, there's you. Module 1 is about establishing the foundation everything else in Clarity Works is built on: a clear personal teaching philosophy, written in your own voice. Through three lessons of reflection and guided writing, you'll trace where your beliefs about teaching come from, examine why naming them matters, and draft a philosophy you can stand behind in your classroom.

By the end of this module, you will:

  • Identify the experiences and beliefs that shape how you teach

  • Understand how clarity in the teacher creates freedom and safety for students

  • Write a working draft of your personal teaching philosophy — one you can revisit and revise as you grow

  • Test your draft against your actual classroom, so it guides real decisions, not just paperwork
